Emotional Release
The Approach
In Emotional Release, we work with your whole system: your mind, your body, and especially your nervous system. We carry stored and unexpressed emotions, tension, pain, and stories inside of us that usually don’t have the space to be felt, expressed, and witnessed in a safe environment.
Emotional Release sessions are the space to do exactly that. We develop more capacity to deal with challenges, create a deeper understanding of yourself and your lived experience of how it feels to be more free in your emotions, to feel safer in your own skin, and to live more aligned with what you really want in life.
So often, we have patterns that keep us from exactly that: living the life that we actually want to live. We stand in our own way, put up obstacles, have anxiety hunting us, and don’t know how to really bring change into our lives.
The Nervous System
&
What it remembers
We try to talk, to analyse, to explain, to understand everything by thinking our way out of it. But we end up in the same situations, patterns, and places with ourselves.
And the reason for that is that our nervous system is still stuck in the past.
We have two broad forms of memory.
One is explicit memory, everything we can consciously recall and say when someone asks us.
The second is implicit memory.
Implicit memory is learning or memory that influences how we feel, react, or behave without consciously remembering the original experience.
Implicit memories can influence the nervous system’s automatic responses, and it reacts to experiences that remind it of an unprocessed past experience.
It is a prediction mechanism.
Past learning can lead the nervous system to predict threat in situations that are actually safe.
The nervous system needs new experiences to learn that the danger is over; it needs an update.
And this is what we do in Emotional Release: we update your nervous system by going back to the past experience and reliving it in a safe environment to finally signal to the nervous system: it’s over now.
You don’t have to protect yourself anymore; you can let go now.
And this letting go is a rewiring.
It means your brain and nervous system can develop new patterns and responses based on new experiences.
And this leads you to more freedom in how you actually want to live your life.
By choice and not by default anymore.
